AESA Films is a Queensland-based production company dedicated to creating compelling documentaries that spotlight urgent environmental and political issues around the globe. Founded in 2017 by environmental scientist and geochemist Dr. Allen Dobrovolsky, AESA Films brings together a dynamic team of creatives with diverse backgrounds in film, television, science, and journalism — including award-winning film editor Alex Fitzwater and writer Nicole McCuaig.

Our mission is to raise awareness and inspire action through powerful storytelling. We produce high-impact films that combine deeply researched content with captivating scripts, cinematic visuals, eye-catching animation, and distinct post-production styles. What sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to truth, accuracy, and advocacy — especially when it comes to protecting the natural world and holding power to account.

Dr. Dobrovolsky brings decades of experience investigating anthropogenic contamination and environmental disasters, including the aftermath of the Chernobyl catastrophe. His expertise shapes the scientific integrity of our work and ensures we approach each story with the respect and depth it deserves. Our team’s passion for diving, sailing, and exploration keeps us connected to the natural world — and attuned to the global environmental crises unfolding in real time.
